This week, with some of our favourites going through tough times, Summer Bay is full of conflict and heartbreak. Dean (Patrick O’Connor) is desperate to get Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) back, but she won’t give in, especially when he gets drunk at her place. Her fears, however, escalate when he stumbles into his car and drives off, then goes missing…

In the meantime, through her hidden letter, Martha (Belinda Giblin) is tortured and reveals the truth to Irene (Lynne McGranger) that she has a secret family member. Eventually, after Alf (Ray Meaghergrowing )’s anger, she tells him the truth. Yet he does not take it kindly when he finds out.

John (Shane Withington) has been planning for his first date since his breakup from Marilyn, but will everything go to plan? Elsewhere, another threatening post is sent from Paul by Christian (Ditch Davey) and Tori (Penny McNamee) clashing over Jasmine (Sam Frost), and Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams). Plus, in jail, is Colby (Tim Franklin) in danger?

Since driving drunk, Dean goes missing.

When Dean turns up on her doorstep intoxicated, Ziggy gets an unwelcome visitor. In the wake of Colby’s jail sentence, he is not doing well, and he’s determined to reassure Ziggy that they still have a chance. She doesn’t have a bar, though, and this just makes his spiral worse. In lieu of Ziggy calling after him, he took off in his motorcycle. She runs to Salt to locate him, anxious for his safety. But he hasn’t been seen by Mac (Emily Weir) and Tane (Ethan Browne). Tane and Ziggy team up to locate Dean, and to their alarm, they find his car slumped at the wheel on the side of the road with him…

Dean and Tane are arguing over Ziggy

In order to get Ziggy back, Dean can stop at nothing, particularly as Willow (Sarah Roberts), Jai (River Jarvis) and Colby are no longer around. But Tane moves in to break up the conversation as he wants to talk to her, until he realises that Ziggy is nervous. Between the two, a war starts to brew, which is barely avoided. Dean, though, needs to try again with Ziggy, so he turns up in the garage. His attempts have the reverse effect, however, just driving her farther away. Then Tane appears, leaving Dean even more annoyed…

Martha shares her family secret

Recently, Martha got a cryptic message that left her spinning brain. She says she wants to return to Merimbula the next day, presumably wanting to tackle the dilemma there, but Alf offers to go with her, which is the last thing she wants. When she snaps at him, tension grows between the two, causing him to be wary of what she is concealing. Martha breaks down in front of Irene at the Diner and admits the fact that she has a baby, and no one knows.

Fresh risks are emerging for Ari and Tane

Recently, Mac jumped in to attempt to solve the problems between the brothers Parata and Paul’s gang by sending them her Porsche to clear the debt. It appears, though, that they still want more, as Ari receives a message suggesting that they want to do another job. The brothers plan to face it head on and, with a warning, go to Paul and Leon. Ari then gets another email, however, which makes him know that they have no choice but to do the work. For both him and Tane, the gang has incriminating evidence that might see them locked away for a long time.

John gears up after Marilyn for his first date

In the wake of his split from Marilyn, John extensively used the Silver Dreams dating tool (Emily Symons). He is nervous about his first date to get back in the game and is captured by Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) and Bella (Courtney Miller) learning his lines to please her. John advises Mac to set the best table in the house and assures that he looks his best too, shaking off their laughter. He is excited to get started, and for his special lady, he shows up early. But is all going to go to plan?

As Nikau travels to New Zealand, Bella is left behind.

Paul and Leon’s gang have backed Ari and Tane into a corner, forced to do a job for them after incriminating images are submitted as ammunition if they do not cooperate. The pair know they have no choice but to carry out the armed robbery, but when Nikau and Bella go home, they try to cover up the truth. Nikau soon discovers, sadly, that they’re hiding something and they tell him what’s going on. Nik is shocked to hear that, for his own safety, he has to go and stay with his mum in New Zealand for a few weeks. He delivers the news to Bella, who unwillingly decides that he needs to leave. Bella knows that Dean is AWOL as he prepares to board his train, that Colby is gone and now Nikau is off.

Tori and Christian are getting into an incredible war

After her first birthday bash, Tori gears up to open the rest of Grace’s gifts, and she is dismayed to discover the contents of Jasmine’s gift (which Irene fished out of the bin in secret during the party). She attempts to apologise, remembering Jasmine’s thoughtful reminding of Robbo (Jake Roberts) was sidelined, and Jasmine realises what Irene did. Christian doesn’t think there’s a problem, but Tori is worried about how Jasmine has to feel. Christian gets fed up with her and exits, with neither one willing to back down. Can they get through this tough stretch with all of them as stubborn as one another?

In jail, is Colby in trouble?

Finally, Bella gets assurance from the jail that she should meet Colby, but she can’t get Dean’s hand so that he can come with her. She makes the tough decision to go alone, but as she meets Taylor (Annabelle Stephenson) on her way in, the situation is made worse for her. Colby attempts to sweep the visit over, demanding that she just say a final farewell. Although Bella is not persuaded, however, Colby immediately takes over by asking how things are at home. He gets to the facts easily, and knows Bella’s all alone. He gets Dean on the phone and leaves him with a furious voicemail, livid that his boyfriend left his little sister alone to cope.

In reality, Colby was visited by Taylor to see if she still had feelings for him. However, she is concerned about his bruised lip, and offers to work it out with security. Colby refuses the gesture, saying he’s got it covered, but is there trouble on the inside for the ex cop?
