Tammin Sursok, who starred in the TV show Home and Away, has confirmed that she was rushed to the hospital over the weekend.
On Tuesday, the 37-year-old announced on Instagram that doctors had discovered a large cyst in her right ovary, as well as an update on her fitness.
The brunette posted an Instagram photo of herself in her hospital bed, looking pained, surrounded by photoshopped screen-grabs of feedback from her Instagram followers.
‘After several tests, we discovered I have a big cyst in my right ovary,’ Tammin wrote in the lengthy caption. I’ll be fine now, and knowing what the problem is, I’ll be able to tackle and solve it in the future.’
She said that after she shared her story, “thousands” of her followers contacted her with tragic tales of misdiagnoses and pain control challenges.
‘Many of you have mentioned how little this topic is discussed and how lonely it makes you feel. So let’s have a conversation about it.
‘Let’s prioritise women’s wellness.’ ‘It’s inexcusable that so many people are in constant pain and suffering with no real answers,’ she wrote.
The Australian-born South African thanked her fans for their encouragement and encouraged women to seek answers and do research in order to help improve the health situation.
It comes after Tammin said that she was open to having another child.
‘Will you have another baby?’ a fan asked in an Instagram Q&A with her followers last month.
‘I’m not sure,’ responded the former soap star.
Tammin is the proud mother of two daughters, Phoenix, seven, and Lennon, two, whom she shares with her film director husband Sean McEwen.
When she auditioned for his film Albino Farm in 2007, they met. In 2011, the pair married in Florence, Italy.
