He has spent 27 years living on Ramsay Street.

Ryan Moloney, who has played Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi on the soap opera Neighbours since 1995, has now explained why he stayed on the show for so long.

Even though many of his co-stars, like Margot Robbie, went on to larger and greater things, he never gave up trying to make it in Hollywood.

The 42-year-old fan favourite said to TV Tonight that he remained because he understood how fortunate he was to have a reliable acting gig like Neighbours.

He also seen a number of cast members quit the programme to explore other chances, only to come to regret their choice when those options didn’t pan out.

“They always depart before returning,” Ryan said, “Oh, man, I wish I could come back.

I often wondered, “What would you be saying them if this was one of your friends who held this position and stated they wanted to leave?” You might say, “Why? What do you have to say? Just remain! One of the best occupations there is, in my opinion “‘

Neighbours was where Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Russell Crowe, Liam Hemsworth, and Margot Robbie made their start in the entertainment industry.

But after leaving Ramsay Street, many actors never again achieved the same heights.

One of the most well-known and enduring characters in Neighbours is Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi.

Toadie, who was formerly a troublesome kid, later developed into a lawyer and a cherished member of the Erinsborough neighbourhood.

Ryan, who began acting at the age of 15, has two kids with his wife Alison Hayward.
