Ramsay Street always
Alan Fletcher, a star of Neighbours, posted a lovely photo of the Kennedy family getting together in real life.
Fletcher played Dr. Karl Kennedy for 28 years on the venerable Australian soap opera, which ended earlier this month after 37 years on television.
Fletcher posted a picture of himself, his on-screen daughter Kym Valentine, and his soap opera wife Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy) on Instagram (Libby Kennedy).
“Lovely to catch up with the tv family for lunch,” the actor wrote as the description for the photo.
Fletcher has talked openly about how difficult it was to film his last scenes on Ramsay Street.
When reciting the lines for the show’s final scenes, he admitted to The Mirror that it was difficult to hold back the emotions. “Hundreds of spectators saw the final bit of filming in the studio. We had some speeches, and I spoke briefly. Some tears were shed. There were a few events to celebrate.
Despite the conclusion of Neighbours, Fletcher has a really busy schedule coming up. The actor will go to the UK in September to do a series of live performances of The Doctor Will See You Now, a play about his 28 years as Karl on Ramsay Street.
Additionally, he will take part in the soap opera’s official UK farewell tour, which will happen the following year.
Fletcher revealed to Digital Spy that he has been creating and recording country and Americana music over the past year when asked about his intentions for the future after Neighbours. I will thus release my EP here in Australia as soon as Neighbours is over.
Then I cross over to the UK and play a few shows in London. Then, in September, I return and perform some music in addition to the Dr. Karl tour. I have to admit that it will be pretty hectic for me, but I’m looking forward to it.
