I had a few meetings upstairs, I said.
Matt Evans of Home and Away made the new plot line for his character real.
He portrays Theo Poulos in the Australian soap opera, a passionate singer whose salvation has recently been praised by followers.
Evans also discussed Theo’s engagement with Salt’s resident band, Lyrik, which makes use of his talents, while catching up with Stuff.
The actor described his desire to showcase his abilities: “I had a couple of meetings upstairs where I indicated that I’d love to be able to do it and they were extremely accepting of it.”
“The only thing I was certain of was that I would be able to bring some music to the role. It’s also hilarious how they kind of hid it from me.
“I was in the dark about this band that was rumoured to be arriving. I was among the last to learn about it, but it’s been incredible.”
He added this in response to the question of whether Evans originals will be featured in Home and Away: “I’m not sure, but it would be fantastic. I really hope that happens.
“I think it would work incredibly well since the writing I’m doing is really funky pop. Perhaps I need to schedule some further meetings (with the writers).”
