Susie’s (Bridie Carter) trail of devastation has left the Bay reeling, and one of the repercussions is that Alf (Ray Meagher) doesn’t see how the Surf Competition will go on.
Dean (Patrick O’Connor) is eager to make things work so that he does not disappoint Jai (River Jarvis).
When Willow (Sarah Roberts) informs him that if the competition isn’t held, the Surf Club may go to court, he starts to devise a strategy, leaving Amber (Madeleine Jevic) alone with Willow. Amber quickly turns her attention to her mate, inquiring about her future plans.
She wants to know what Willow’s plans are for the future, and she wonders if she’ll contact Alex again (Zoe Ventoura). Willow ponders what could have been, while Amber urges her to take a gamble – after all, she accomplished what she came back to the Bay for, and she, Dean, and Jai are now a family unit.
After Lewis cancels their romantic trip together, Willow and Amber end up having a picnic with Jasmine the next day. Willow goes to get a drink because she doesn’t want to be pushed about Alex any longer, and Jasmine makes it clear that Willow will move on when she’s ready.
Amber, on the other hand, refuses to give up and investigates Alex’s social media account. Willow can’t help but be pleased when she hears that Alex is still single.
She agrees to take a chance and call Alex after some more motivation…
