Toadie’s big payday: Neighbours star Ryan Moloney sells his Mornington Peninsula estate ‘for $8million’ as the soap comes to an end after 37 years

Ryan Moloney, who plays Jarrod ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi in the soon-to-be-cancelled Australian serial, has sold his property in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula for an undisclosed sum.

According to Realestate.com.au, the 42-year-old actor and his 19-year-old wife, Alison Hayward, listed the enormous estate in January with a price range of $7.5 million to $8 million.

The home, which lies on 4.33 hectares of land and is near to the ocean, was first purchased by Ryan and Alison in 2015.

There’s a pool, a gym, a half-court basketball court, a barn, a riding arena, and stables on the property.

According to Homes and Acreage director Grant Perry, Ryan and Alison’s property was purchased by a young local family.

‘They loved everything – the horse facilities, the new home, and the fact that it was built sustainably,’ Mr Perry said, adding that the new owners were’very delighted.’

Mr Perry said Ryan and his family were “ecstatic” about the sale, although he didn’t say how much it cost, which is thought to be within the price range.

The Moloneys are said to have purchased a new property in the region.

The house had been on the market for nearly a month and had had “over 100 inquiries and 50 inspections from local and city-based buyers.”

Ryan and Alison first put the four-bedroom house on the market in late January, according to reports.

The entirely private residence, according to realestate.com.au at the time, boasts rolling countryside for kilometres.

The full-length windows in the integrated lounge and kitchen area flood the space with natural light.

The pool and fire pit area, which has built-in seating, is accessible through sliding glass doors, making it ideal for entertaining guests.

There’s a master suite with an en suite bathroom and a large dressing area, as well as a study for those who work from home.

The bathroom contains his-and-hers sinks as well as a standalone bath, which is ideal for relaxing and taking in the scenery.

Mr Perry claimed at the time that the area’s huge horse shelters and 60x20m riding ring would’really appeal’ to someone with horses.

‘You can ride directly from the property down to Balnarring Beach, where you are permitted to ride on the beach,’ he continued.

Since 1995, Ryan has played Jarrod ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi on Neighbours.

The British broadcaster Channel 5 has refused to fund the production of the Australian soap, which will end filming in June after 37 years on the air.
