“All of a sudden, I was whisked back to New York.”
Since they first met, Penny McNamee and her husband Matt Tooker have been proving that true love still exists.
Penny married her high school sweetheart ten years later, in 2009, after meeting at a school musical camp in 1999.
They’ve been happily married since then.
Penny took to Instagram to post a nostalgic throwback with her husband influenced by one of her Home And Away scenes, demonstrating the couple’s fairy-tale romance once again.
Penny began, “I had to utter the words ‘It’s you and me against the world’ in a scene yesterday.”
I was suddenly transported back to New York in 2011, when Matt and I moved to Brooklyn with no job, no visa, and no friends.
“It was thrilling yet frightening, and one night, while I was weeping, convinced we’d made a massive mistake, Matt said to me, ‘Hey babe, it’s you and me against the universe.'”
She went on to say, And then she went on to say, And all of a sudden, everything was perfect.
We got jobs, visas, and an apartment, as well as the most amazing friends (who we miss every day!)
We lived for four years and had a fantastic time!
I miss New York, I miss travelling, I miss my friends… but I’m glad @matt tooker and I are both up against the world.
Penny told New Idea that when she first met Matt all those years ago, she was instantly smitten.
I fell in love with him right away. I was a 16-year-old hysterical girl who thought he was perfect.
Even for the picture-perfect couple, the road to romance was not always easy.
We were both 19 at the time, and we both knew we had to go off and live our lives – we both wanted to study and travel, the 37-year-old actress explained about their split.
We had to break up despite how much we loved each other, which was heartbreaking.
They finally reconciled, and the rest, as they say, is history!
