Jemma Donovan, who plays Harlow Robinson in the soap opera Neighbours, has revealed aspects of the show’s dramatic finale episodes.

Following the announcement that the show had been cancelled, the much-loved Australian serial is unfortunately coming to an end after 37 years, with the final episodes airing this summer.

Jemma Donovan, the daughter of Neighbours star Jason Donovan, has told fans that there will be plenty more action to come that will not disappoint.

“Our fans are extremely invested in the show,” the 21-year-old said in a recent interview, “and I love that they study and analyse even the most minute detail – now that’s devotion!”

The actress continued to declare that it would achieve the appropriate balance and wow fans while maintaining tight-lipped about the actual details of what serial management have planned.

“I know our fans are going to be blown away by what is being planned for the finale, extremely celebratory…but that’s all I’m saying for the moment,” Jemma, who is starring opposite Amanda Holden in some special episodes recorded in London, stated.

Jemma isn’t the only member of the cast who has spoken out about Neighbours’ impending end of an era.

Jason, who played Scott Robinson alongside Kylie Minogue’s Charlene Robinson on the serial, has expressed his sadness about the show’s demise, but says he’ll focus on the fond memories.

“You know, this is 36 years of excellent television and of firmly placing Australia on the map,” Jason, 53, said when the news surfaced.

“I mean, look at the careers that have been established as a result of it.” So I’m thinking of the positives, of the joy, affection, and love that the programme has inspired over the years it’s been on television.”

This comes after Neighbours confirmed the disappointing television news that the show would be cancelled.

“We are so sorry to say that after over 37 years and approximately 9000 episodes broadcast, we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June,” the statement stated.

“We simply have no choice but to put the show on hold following the loss of our important broadcast partner in the UK, despite a thorough hunt for alternative funding.”

“To our fantastic, dedicated supporters, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the squad,” the statement added.

“We appreciate all of your words and support, and we pledge to end the show on a positive note.” We’ll be commemorating Neighbours from now on.”
