Fans of Neighbours were so happy to see Joel Samuels return to Ramsay Street that they started crying.
Joel returned to Erinsborough in the episode airing today (Wednesday, July 27) as many of the locals got ready to leave.
And as the programme prepares to finish, viewers were happy to see another previous inhabitant return.
Neighborhood: Joel Samuels is back
In 1998, Joel made his debut in the Australian soap opera and quickly became notorious for taking off his top.
He appeared in numerous major storylines over his four years on the show, including one in which Anne Wilkinson crashed her car into a riverbed.
Joel leapt in to try to save her, but he became caught under the car and managed to escape.
He also developed a close relationship with Toadie.
Fans cry as Joel Samuels makes a comeback
In today’s episode, Joel, who left Ramsay Street in 2002, makes a cameo appearance to see Toadie.
Joel and Toadie reconciled and hugged each other.
Joel said he wanted to stop by to wish Melanie and Toadie success even if he couldn’t attend their wedding.
As Melanie and Joel got to know one another more, it became clear that Joel is divorced but now had children.
Joel was informed by Melanie that Amy was in Cairns when they conducted their business together.
Mel was concerned when Toadie quickly received word that Amy wouldn’t be coming back.
Later, when Toadie asked Joel about his favourite Ramsay Street memory, he recalled the time they had made a pact not to wash or take a shower until Toadie had raised $1,000 for the university.
However, as soon as people started throwing food at them, they started to smell awful.
Then, a flashback depicted Joel and Toadie being attacked with food. They discussed The Full Monty as well, and we had another flashback.
Fans were in tears at seeing Joel again after 20 years, but Joel then had to leave.
When will Neighbours’ last episode air?
On Friday, July 29, 2022, at 9 p.m., the final episode of Australia’s longest-running drama will premiere in an emotional finale.
The antepenultimate episode will air on Channel 5 on Friday, July 29 at 1.45 and 6 p.m. in the UK during the regular transmission times.
Two extra programs—Neighbours: What Happened Next? and Neighbours: The Stars’ Greatest Hits—will air after the double-episode special finale.
