On today’s episode of Home and Away, the illicit poker night at restaurant Salt is in full swing.
Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) is hopeful that the SECRET event would bring in some BIG money to help her out of her present financial bind.
Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis) is the hostess with the mostess, as she runs the illegal enterprise with ease.
Tane Parata (Ethan Browne), Felicity’s lover, impresses her by demonstrating his poker prowess and raking in the winnings!
Tane and Felicity are in desperate need of a good time after the loss of Tane’s older brother, Ari.
Everyone engaged cleans up neatly as the bar tabs rise!
When some of the locals, including Mackenzie’s boyfriend, Logan Bennett (Harley Bonner), go to Salt, they are surprised to see a notice outside that says “Closed for Private Function.”
How is that possible?
Salt never closes its doors!
Mackenzie makes an appearance with a cover story, desperate to keep the poker night a secret.
Will Logan, on the other hand, be persuaded that Mackenzie is telling the truth?
Meanwhile, Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman) and her boyfriend, Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor), are relieved to find the farmhouse is empty.
Bella Nixon (Courtney Miller), her boyfriend Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo), and Nikau’s sort-of stepsister, Chloe Anderson, are nowhere to be found (Sam Barrett).
The couple’s precious time together, however, is cut short when Mia (Anna Samson) turns up unexpectedly asking for her daughter, Chloe.
Mia is depressed after a family dinner intended to unify the Parata family did not go as planned.
Ziggy and Dean sense Mia’s anguish and encourage her to remain to learn more about how she feels abandoned by her family in the aftermath of Ari’s death.
The following day, Dean takes matters into his own hands and confronts Tane about why everyone is ignoring Mia in her hour of need.
Dean’s involvement in private Parata business, on the other hand, does not sit well with Tane…
Uh-oh.
