When Cash Newman (played by Nicholas Cartwright) shows up for the gig at Salt in Home and Away, he is in for a surprise.
Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), Cash Newman’s sister, is upset about the concert she planned at Salt.
It’s the first significant event she’s planned since purchasing the bar/restaurant, so a lot depends on it. In the event of a failure, her business partner and fellow owner Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) might never again trust her with anything at the popular Summer Bay restaurant!
She requests her brother to attend the gig since she is concerned that nobody will show up.
But he is unaware that he will be seeing Lyrik as the band.
Additionally, it appears that Cash and one band member in particular have a past as the tale in this episode develops.
When the band members Bob (Rob Mallett), Eden (Stephanie Panozzo), Remi (Adam Rowland), and Kirby (Angelina Thomson) arrived in the Bay last week, they caused quite a stir and a commotion that the handsome cop somehow missed! He is therefore unaware that they are in town.
In addition, Felicity doesn’t tell him who will be performing when she invites him to the event, and he doesn’t inquire either, so he has no idea what he’s letting himself in for!
The band begins their performance with a BANG.
The crowd is energetic, the music is excellent, and the drinks are pouring.
Felicity can now relax knowing that Mackenzie thinks it is fantastic and declares it a complete success.
She was successful!
And Tane Parata (Ethan Browne), her boyfriend, couldn’t be happier!
Cash, however, is taken aback when he realises that the band is Lyrik when he arrives, but just as he’s ready to dash out, Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor) persuades him to stay and have a beer.
Though Felicity is perplexed because she thought Cash enjoyed the band, Cash grumbles to her that she should have informed him that Lyrik was performing and begrudgingly decides to hang around.
When Cash tries to leave for the second time, bandmate Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) unexpectedly rushes off the stage, climbs on the hot officer, and wraps her legs around him like a rabbit in headlights!
Eden flinging herself upon Cash amuses Felicity, but Cash seems unimpressed.
It seems that Cash had had feelings for Eden, but that was a very long time ago.
So why does he overreact when Eden is in town if it’s ancient history?
An excited Mackenzie and Felicity toast a fantastic evening after it’s all over.
After having some reservations about Felicity’s proposal for a music night, Mac is made to swallow his pride. and that’s all right with her!
She acknowledges that the band night was a fantastic way to relaunch Salt and that her new co-owner was correct all along.
The women raise a glass in celebration of their new partnership in business.
