Five years after getting married, Sarah Roberts and James Stewart, two iconic figures from Home and Away, have sadly announced their divorce.
The well-known actress, who plays Willow Harrow in the renowned Australian television series, talked candidly about the tough choice in an exclusive interview with Stellar Magazine.
As she put it: “I would want to announce that I have got a divorce. People grow apart sometimes, and that’s acceptable. I eventually understood that this specific relationship was not allowing me to grow in the way I wanted to.”
The 39-year-old and her 48-year-old former partner began their brief but intense affair in 2017. After falling in love, they decided to spend the rest of their lives together and were married in a private ceremony in Dublin, Ireland.
After a battle with brain cancer, the renowned actress sadly lost her brother in 2019, making the past few years incredibly tough.
Sarah bravely posted numerous pictures from her wedding day on Instagram as a heartbreaking remembrance of her beloved sibling after the terrible loss.
She wrote, “He walked me down the aisle three months ago today, and now he is walking with the angels.” 34 years of priceless memories of growing up together as kids and adults are gone, leaving a void in my heart.”
She went on, “Big Squirt, you fought THE BRAVEST struggle all the way to the end. I swear to always live up to your ideals and to never forget what you taught me—that “it’s all about the trip, not the destination” and “have no regrets.”
“You have my undying love, respect, and admiration. We know you’re dancing in the heavens and constantly keeping an eye on us, so you can go to sleep now. Medium Squirt x @karldeabrew, you have my undying affection.”
