Clarice, the Silence of the Lambs prequel series starring Rebecca Breeds of Home and Away, may switch platforms for season 2.
Negotiations for the CBS murder thriller to transfer to streaming service Paramount+ are underway, according to Deadline, while the network’s other two shows, SEAL Team and Evil, have already been confirmed for relocation ahead of seasons 4 and 2, respectively.
“Our Studio and Network have a solid track record of generating high-quality dramas with multiplatform success, and these programmes attest to that strength,” said George Cheeks, CEO of CBS Entertainment Group.
“These decisions demonstrate yet again how our linear and streaming ecosystems can strategically collaborate to maximise content value and benefit programmes and creators.”
CBS’ decision was reportedly motivated by the network’s recent commissioning of four new dramas (offshoots from FBI, NCIS, and CSI, plus Good Sam), as well as the network’s desire to diversify its schedule.
“We are excited to offer fresh seasons of these fantastic programmes to Paramount+,” said Julie McNamara, head of programming at Paramount+.
“With these creative teams, we have a proven track record of generating tremendous audiences, like Robert and Michelle King’s exceptional The Good Fight, and we look forward to providing our subscribers even more seasons of series they adore.”
