Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) has been a character on Neighbours for over a decade, first appearing in the weekday serial drama in 2012. She has been at the centre of various major storylines over the last ten years, most notably those in which her romance with Channel 5 soap villain Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) has come to a head. Some characters’ tales on Ramsay Street are being wrapped up ahead of the show’s closure later this year, and one of them could very well be Terese’s, as Lucy Robinson (Melissa Bell) comes to the picture in upcoming scenes.

The drama continues in next week’s episodes when Fashion Week takes place at Lassiters, but Terese’s plans are shattered.

This is because her estranged husband, Paul, has been striving to make her career as tough as possible for her because he is still resentful of their breakup.

Along with revealing that the show’s star, Montana Marcel (Tammin Sursok), is a conwoman, he has been ensuring that the fraudster has built up so many costs that Terese would be in huge trouble when the whole thing falls apart around her.

Terese is completely unaware of what is going on at the hotel as the show begins, that is, until Montana is jailed for her crimes.

Paul, eager for his plans to go ahead, casts the finger of blame onto the hotel manager, despite the fact that his estranged wife is completely unaware of what’s been going on.

Terese, unaware that this is all a set-up, agrees with Paul that it is all her fault and is more than happy to accept responsibility.

However, as she begins to piece the puzzle together, the hotel manager realises that her estranged spouse is to blame for her demise.

As she tries to come up with a plan to get rid of the villain, her employer and Paul’s sister Lucy arrive on the scene.

After a brief absence from Ramsay Street, the former inhabitant returns as the CEO of Lassiters to pick up the pieces of the disastrous Fashion Week event.

The returning character has no choice except to terminate her sister-in-law since she needs someone to blame for the crisis and Terese is a sitting duck.

Terese, understandably, is upset, knowing full well that the accident was not her fault and that she is prepared to expose Paul.

Her evil and estranged husband, on the other hand, has always been one step ahead of her, so there’s a risk she won’t be able to restore her reputation.

As her life begins to crumble, she may feel that she needs to start a new chapter of her life outside of Erinsborough.

Terese realises that if she stays, she will never be able to escape her previous problems, or Paul for that matter.

She would pack her belongings and travel to Darwin to live with her niece Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson) and the rest of her family.

This might coincide with the show’s closure in early August, signalling the end of another another character’s stay on Ramsay Street.

Lucy’s return could also fit in with the writers’ intentions to wrap up the show, since executive producer Jason Herbison recently revealed that he would be bringing back some past inhabitants.

“I’m definitely hoping some of these faces return, along with others we haven’t been able to bring back till now,” the soap leader stated in an interview with TV Tonight.

Lucy hasn’t appeared on the show since the beginning of 2022, so this will be the first time she returns this year.

She’s made a few brief guest cameos in recent years to fit in with some of Paul’s continuing themes.

Melissa, who plays Lucy, revealed just last month that she will be returning to the drama.

The soap star took to Instagram to share a photo of herself on set, captioning the photo with, “I’m back.” “Good Neighbors are essential for everyone.”

The actress has previously advocated for her role, who was a regular character in the 1990s, to return full-time.

“It’s very thrilling,” Melissa said, “and I love coming back to Neighbours.” They would have done more if it hadn’t been for COVID, which made it difficult.

“It’s just so difficult to coordinate filming during this time.” But I enjoy playing Neighbours since Lucy is a character I’ve known since I was a child. It’s just so good to be playing her again.”

The last time she was on the show was back in November 2021 when she was reunited with her long-lost brother, Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett), who has become a regular resident on Ramsay Street.

During the 1990s, the brother and sister duo almost had an incestuous affair when they started to develop feelings for one another.

It was thought with Glenn returning to the show after 30 years, there would be potential for the relationship between him and Lucy to be reexplored.

Melissa continued: “I’d definitely return on a permanent basis – in a heartbeat. I believe you’ll have to wait and see if everyone says, “We love Lucy and Glen, and we want them back full-time!”

Will she really be able to get rid of Terese, or will she be around until the end of the season in August?
