Neighbours plans UK tour after soap axing

Neighbours is presently planning a UK theatre tour in advance of the show’s cancellation in August.

The trip, which will begin in March of next year, will commemorate the soap’s nearly 40-year run on television.

For Neighbours’ 35th anniversary, a special Live in Conversation presentation was scheduled, but it was cancelled, along with many other events, due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

According to Digital Spy, the show has been changed to coincide with the cancellation of the soap.

The tour will stop in Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Cardiff, with production company Fremantle Media and live events company Maple Tree Entertainment collaborating on the programme.

We exclusively revealed last week that Australian acting legend Guy Pearce would be reprising his role as Mike Young on Neighbours.

Kyle Minogue (Charlene Robinson), Jason Donovan (Scott Robinson), Ian Smith (Harold Bishop), Paul Keane (Des Clarke), Peter O’Brien (Shane Ramsay), Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Izzy Hoyland), Daniel MacPherson (Joel Samuel), Melissa Bell (Lucy Robinson), Mark Little (Joe Mangel), Olympia Valance (Paige Smith), and many more will join a prestigious list of the show’s most

“It’s exciting and odd at the same time to be back on set, but it feels like coming home,” Guy Pearce said.

‘It’s when my professional journey began.’ I’d been asked to return on several occasions over the years and debated whether it was the proper thing to do, but once I realised the show was coming to an end, I knew I had no choice.

‘While I’ve seen many of the cast members I worked with on the show over the years, there’s nothing like being back here with everyone.’

On August 1, the final episode of Neighbours will air.
