Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan re-release hit song ahead of Neighbours return

In preparation for their return to Neighbours for the serial opera’s conclusion, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are reissuing their popular duet Especially For You.

The music icons gained fame in the 1980s Australian drama playing lovers Scott and Charlene Robinson. The cast members of Ramsay Street, who haven’t appeared on the show in almost 30 years, consented to reprise their roles for the finale, which will run on July 29 at 9 p.m. in prime time.

Now, Kylie has revealed that a limited edition vinyl and cassette version of the well-known song she performed with Jason for the first time in 1989 will be made available starting on August 5. Before sharing the information, she tweeted, “Now we ARE back together on @neighbors.”

Working with Kylie on Especially For You was wonderful joy, according to Jason, who spoke about the song’s re-release. Along with the announcement, he shared a photo of the two during that time period.

The information comes just after we were given to intriguing new pictures of Jason and Kylie on the Neighbours set, with Kylie even donning Charlene’s signature dungarees!

The on-screen couple was earlier hinted to have the soap’s final line, but we’ll just have to wait and see whether the rumours are accurate.

Channel 5 will air two additional Neighbours specials in honour of the beloved programme in addition to the three episodes that will air to wind up the soap opera. Make sure you don’t miss a moment because it will undoubtedly be emotional.

After an unfortunate 37-year run, Neighbours was regretfully cancelled earlier this year, with filming wrapping up in June. The controller of the station recently discussed the issue, calling it “a commercial choice.”

On the music streaming service Tidal, Especially For You is available to fans.
