When the beach in Home and Away becomes a crime scene once more and one resident is charged with murder, the locals of Summer Bay are shocked.
Dean Thompson is the unfortunate party in question, and he quickly realises the serious consequences of failing to redeem his name.
The unruly PK is the victim, and although Cash and Rose investigate what transpired and come to the conclusion that PK was murdered elsewhere before being abandoned on the shore, questions begin to be raised about whether Dean was involved.
Mac is the first to express fear that her brother might be a killer because she remembers him having a plan to deal with PK, and her worries suddenly seem justified.
As soon as Dean is brought in for interrogation, it is evident that the odds are growing against him. First of all, despite Ziggy providing an alibi, the authorities are doubtful of its validity because Ziggy exhibits extreme agitation whenever she is questioned.
A closer inspection of Dean’s hands finds damage on his knuckles, adding to the evidence against him.
Later it is discovered that multiple blows to the head with a wrench are what killed PK, and not long after that discovery Dean’s alibi is disproved when it is determined that he and Ziggy were not together at the time.
The police quickly show up to search Ziggy’s home, confident that they are finally on to something. While they discover nothing there, this is not the case with Ziggy’s car, as when they open it, the bloody wrench is waiting for them.
Although PK was still alive when Dean last saw him and he has no idea how the wrench got inside the car, Dean is obliged to tell the authorities that he did attack PK.
But now that the evidence appears to be against him, Dean will find it difficult to convince anyone to believe him.
