Australia’s police have detained Orpheus Pledger, a former star of Home and Away, after a three-day manhunt due to accusations of abuse against a lady.

Pledger, 30, made his court appearance in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday. He was charged with four assault offences and given bail to go through a medical evaluation mandated by the court, with the understanding that he would return the following day.

But when he did not show up for court on Tuesday, police filed an arrest order and appealed to the public to assist in his location.

Later, Victoria police announced that the actor was being held in Melbourne.

Police released a statement on Thursday saying, “Please be advised that Orpheus Pledger, who was wanted on a warrant, has been arrested.”

Police withheld information about his apprehension.

The Sydney Morning Heral was informed by his manager Craig McMahon that he had not spoken to Pledger this week and that he was shocked by the accusations made against his client.

He claimed that his client had long-standing mental health problems.

“We are completely inconsolable. This young man is this. As the hunt for him went on, he stated on Wednesday, “It’s terrible for everyone involved on all accounts.”

In May, the actor is scheduled to appear in court.

He’s been charged with assaulting a female. On Monday, the court heard how he reportedly gave her a hard enough kick to leave a Vans footwear imprint on her face.

For more than 20 years, Pledger has contributed to well-known Australian television programmes. From 2016 until 2019, he portrayed Mason Morgan in the popular soap opera Home and Away.
