Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) on Home and Away (1:45pm; check our TV Guide for programming) has experienced a setback in his attempt to become baby Maia’s EMERGENCY foster carer.
Fostering is restricted to Australian citizens and permanent residents.
Tane, regrettably, is neither.
What will happen now to the baby girl that was abandoned?
Tane is not going to give up.
However, Mali Hudson, his housemate (Kyle Shilling), makes him face reality.
They won’t change the rules only for him because the system is strict.
Kirsty Marillier plays Senior Serjeant Rose Delaney, who publicly calls on Maia’s mother to come forward.
Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis) is horrified to learn that her now-ex-husband Tane was the one who discovered Maia abandoned on the beach after overhearing a discussion concerning the infant.
Felicity gets an epiphany about how she might support Tane when she learns that his attempts to take on the role of foster carer for Maia are being thwarted.
WHY is Felicity doing this?
Following their prior altercation, Valerie Beaumont (Courtney Clarke) chooses to approach Kirby Aramoana (Angelina Thomson).
Kirby receives assurances from Valerie that she won’t be giving any more “party pills” to Theo Poulos (Matt Evans).
It’s obvious that he is growing overly reliant on them.
Valerie makes an effort to persuade Kirby that she is not intentionally attempting to mislead Theo.
But Theo has other plans…
The fantastic news that the singer/songwriter has secured a LIVE radio interview has just been delivered.
Without taking one of the “chill pills” beforehand, he’s not sure if he can manage the interview.
In a desperate attempt, Theo coerces Valerie into providing him with her dealer’s phone number!
Will Valerie succumb in to Theo’s demands and give him the numbers at last?
