“I was such a stalker!”

Actress Stephanie Panozzo of Home and Away believes that food is the path to happiness. She therefore realised she was “on to a good thing” when she first met chef Josh Kelly six years ago and he prepared her a curry in his wood-fired pizza oven.

“What am I supposed to say? Being Italian, I adore delicious meals! Steph grinned broadly and told New Idea.

Because they have been managing a long-distance relationship for the past three years, Steph and Josh now value mealtimes even more.

After being cast as Eden Fowler in Home and Away, Steph, 32, moved to Sydney, while Josh, 34, stayed in their hometown of Melbourne.

Josh and Stephanie have been together for six years.

Steph acknowledges that “it can be challenging at times.” “We’re in a nice groove with it now, but sometimes all you want is to go home and have your person be there.”

Stephanie claims they manage to make it work by FaceTiming “countless” times a day and making sure to meet in person every two to three weeks.

Josh and Stephanie first met while Stephanie was a receptionist at the gym where they both worked.

“I had not met Josh before, but after hearing from a buddy that I ought to, I looked him up on the gym database. “I was really a stalker,” she admits.

Shortly after Josh reached out to Steph, he invited her out on that disastrous first date.

Eden, a character played by Stephanie, has been in a few exciting stories!

“It feels a little strange to spend so much time apart now because we lived together for the majority of the lengthy lockdowns in Melbourne,” Steph says. “Yet we are both fully pursuing our passions and dreams, and we are incredibly proud of each other’s success.”

Steph enjoys “getting on the tools” and lending a hand at Josh’s mobile wood-fired pizza catering company, Little Ellens, when she returns to Melbourne.

While I’m serving pizza, I do occasionally get identified or have people inquire if I’m Eden. It’s quite humorous,” she exclaims.

Luckily, Josh’s temporary move to Sydney during the winter will allow Steph and Josh to spend more time together in person.

We’ll actually get to be a “normal” couple who live together again for a bit because he won’t be as busy at work because there won’t be as many events going on, she says.

Stephanie said, “Work is great and Josh is the best.”

Naturally, she has a very busy schedule at Home and Away.

Steph remarks, “I’ve been so incredibly lucky with my storylines with Eden.” The actress is “so grateful for that” since she and Nic Cartwright, who plays Eden’s love interest Cash, “never a dull moment.”

Even though it means accruing more airline miles, Stephanie claims that she and Josh are content with their current relationship for the time being.

When asked about their future plans, she laughs and responds, “We’ll have to see what happens.”

“I feel so content right now. “I’m proud of everything he’s achieved in his life so far and I know that he feels the same way about me,” the statement reads. “The work is excellent and Josh is the best.”
