Next week on EastEnders, groom-to-be Callum Highway (Tony Clay) makes a stunning confession that leaves Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) speechless.
Callum, unable to shake the suspicion that Ben was involved in the death of Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), pays a visit to Whitney Dean, who is mourning (Shona McGarty).
Whitney, who is heartbroken, refuses to attend his wedding and insists that Kush’s death was not an accident.
Meanwhile, Ben organises a secret meeting, which Callum overhears, prompting him to challenge his beau once more.
The young copper, on the other hand, is completely unaware that Ben is meeting with Stuart (Ricky Champ). They’ve surprised Callum by inviting his grandmother Vi (Gwen Taylor)!
Ben, unable to keep his surprise to himself, decides to announce it. Callum, on the other hand, is clearly too preoccupied to ask his fiancé if he had anything to do with Kush’s death!
Vi interjects, sensing the tense environment between the two, and questions an agitated Ben.
Ben tells Callum that he did not touch Kush, desperate to prove his innocence.
Callum seems to take his boyfriend’s word at face value, but when Ben insists that they be frank from now on, he finds it difficult to keep a lid on his own big secret.
And with that, he comes clean, admitting that he lied about being undercover last year, confirming that it was Phil (Steve McFadden) who was the goal, not DI Thompson (Phillip Wright).
Ben is furious, and he doesn’t waste much time in demanding answers – but will Callum be able to meet his demands?
Phil, having discovered that things between the lovers are strained, demands that Callum mend the relationship, and in one last effort, the young copper informs his soon-to-be husband that he’ll be waiting for him at the registry office on Monday.
Will Ben be able to forgive him, on the other hand? Will he call off the wedding, or will he postpone it?
