Sam Frost has talked candidly about the “awful year” that ended with her resignation from Home and Away in December 2021.
She also made infrequent remarks regarding the contentious video she shared in October 2021, in which she discussed her mental health and her reluctance to receive the COVID vaccination.
According to Frost, she had mental health issues at the time, which caused her to leave the Channel 7 serial opera permanently as Jasmine Delaney.
“It was a terrible year.” In an interview with Life Uncut, she stated, “I had a lot going on in my private life and in my family life.”
It was a pretty unpleasant moment. Nobody was safe during COVID, in my opinion,” remarked Frost.
“If you actually watch the video I made about that, it’s all about mental health and me saying that nobody is OK right now. Regardless of your opinion on these vaccines, everyone is having difficulties, so you should be understanding and compassionate to others who may not feel the same way about you.
“The entire situation was misrepresented, taken out of context, and turned into something much messier and ugly than it was intended to be.”
She claimed that things grew so awful that she had to make the decision to stay at home with her family.
She said, “That’s when I decided to leave Home and Away.”
“I was really hesitant about doing a video or even speaking up about this sort of thing, but I feel like there’s a lot of segregation now in the world,” Frost said in the video that was posted to Instagram at the time.
“There’s a lot of harsh judgement and opinions being tossed around, and it’s definitely having a negative impact on my mental health. I also know that others close to me are having difficulties, especially if they’re on the side that believes that vaccinations are unnecessary for whatever reason.
“There exist numerous rationales for individuals not to receive vaccinations, including medical histories, anxieties, familial histories, and religious convictions.”
Frost went on to say that she had not yet received the vaccination, explaining that there were a “few reasons” for this.
Two months later, Frost left Home and Away due to severe reaction.
When Sam decided to leave Home and Away, a representative for Seven stated, “We support and respect Sam’s decision.”
“With our deepest gratitude and best wishes for the future, Sam departs.”
Frost has previously discussed the “bullying” she encountered following the release of the video.
It was revolting to bully those who were not immunised. Years-old friends of mine stopped communicating with me,’ she said to Stellar Magazine.
I never claimed not to want to receive it. I’m not against vaccinations; are you serious?
However, I think it’s incredibly unrealistic to expect that everyone will think the same way and reach the same decision at the same moment.
