Olympia Valance will play Paige Smith in the last months of Neighbours, it was confirmed today.
Olympia will return to Ramsay Street for the ‘last ever episodes’ of Neighbours, according to Neos Kosmos, a Melbourne-based Greek community journal. Olympia later announced the news on Instagram.
“We are happy to have Olympia join us for the celebrations, she is a much-loved cast member and character, and always adds a tremendous enthusiasm to the set,” said Executive Producer Jason Herbsion.
“Paige Smith has an edge that will shake things up — be ready.”
Debut June 2014 – 2018: Olympia as Paige Smith Paige Novak (Kate Kendall) arrived in town after learning that her biological parents, Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin) and Lauren Carpenter (Kate Kendall), were seeking for her.
She kept her identity hidden for a few months until the truth came out.
She had an on-and-off romance with Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) in Erinsborough before meeting Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley), with whom she had a son, Gabe.
In March 2018, she, Jack and Gabe left for Queensland.
Paige returned briefly in 2020, revealing that she and Jack had split.
Her first wedding day ended in tragedy when Mark had to arrest his bride-to-be for robbery.
“Neighbours has always seemed like home to me,” Olympia told Neos Kosmos. My first acting gig taught me a lot. “Neighbours is the best training field in the world for a reason.”
She said she “can’t say a word” about her return to Erinsborough.
“All I can confirm is Paige is returning,” she told the tabloid.
“I think these final episodes of Neighbours have been well-crafted. They are a true fan dedication, so I think everyone will be pleased.”
Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue will reprise their roles as Scott and Charlene Robinson in the show’s final episodes.
A close-up of a script that stated “LOC. EXT. RAMSAY STR[EET]. SCOTT, CHARLENE” was published on Instagram by both.
Along with Paige, Scott, and Charlene, Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) and Hendrix’s parents Pierce and Lisa Greyson (Tim Robards) will be returning to Ramsay Street for the last months (Jane Allsop).
Other returnees are expected, but information are scarce.
Executive Producer Jason Herbison told Mediaweek that the final months will be a “huge celebration for the programme with a bit of everything for viewers.” Any conclusion will be respectful of the past, present, and future.”
