Bonnie Anderson will appear in the final episode of Neighbours, Metro.co.uk can exclusively reveal.
For the show’s spectacular conclusion on August 1, the actress, who played Bea Nilsson for two years, will reprise her legendary role.
Bea will reunite with her sister, Elly Conway (Jodi Gordon), who is one of numerous returning characters.
A whopping 24 former mainstays, some from every decade of the show, will set foot in Ramsay Street for the program’s departure, it was reported earlier this month.
Neighbours’ farewell episode is shaping up to be nothing short of iconic, with Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue as Scott and Charlene Robinson, Ian Smith and Mark Little as Harold Bishop and Joe Mangle, and Pippa Black and Jordan Patrick Smith as Elle and Andrew Robinson.
Bonnie made her Neighbours debut as Bea in 2108 and left in 2021, singing the current version of the show’s famous theme song.
She expressed interest in returning to Neighbours in the future, telling TV Week that it was a “great training ground.”
‘Returning and being reunited with everyone on-screen and off would be fantastic,’ she remarked.
After 37 years on the air, Neighbours will come to an end in August.
Following Channel 5’s controversial decision to pull the show from their schedules, production company Fremantle acknowledged earlier this year that it has been unable to find another broadcast partner in the UK.
Filming for the final month-long on-air celebration has already begun, with the final episode due to air on August 1.
Neighbours airs on Channel 5 weekdays at 1:45pm and 6pm.
