Neighbours’ legendary Mrs Mangel painting falls off the wall as great grandson Byron reveals he’s an escort

Almost everyone was taken aback when Byron Stone revealed that he had been working as an escort, even Mrs. Mangel’s (Vivean Gray) famed portrait, which had fallen from the wall.

Moments after her great-grandson Byron (Joe Klocek) informed his mother Jane Harris (Annie Jones) the truth about what he does when he’s not working at Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) law practise, the painting of the adored busybody fell to the ground.

As fans are aware, Byron showed up on Ramsay Street a few weeks ago, and it was immediately apparent that he was hiding a significant secret.

Jane, of course, was blissfully unaware of Byron’s midnight antics, and Byron wanted to keep it that way, but he found himself in a tricky situation after making an intriguing discovery about one of his clients.

Regular customer Danielle Pendlebury (Christine Stephen-Daly) of Byron’s had a close relationship with Clive Gibbons (Geoff Paine), who, as the audience is aware, is dating Jane.

Byron decided to look into the situation more since he thought Clive was having an affair with his mother. He blindfolded Danielle and searched through her possessions in an effort to discover evidence to support his idea.

But Danielle managed to catch him in the act. After telling Clive about her find, he sped over to her house to console her.

Little did Clive realise, however, that Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes) had followed him to Danielle’s house and taken a few damning photos, which she then presented to Jane.

Although Clive insisted he wasn’t having an affair with Danielle, he did reveal that they had slept together in the past, when she was a patient of his.

He claimed that he has kept up a semblance of a connection with Danielle over the years because he has been scared of her disclosing details of their time together and ruining his career.

Jane made an effort to absorb the finding. Clive, on the other hand, was curious to learn more about Byron’s part in revealing his secrets.

While Nicolette tried to stand in for her brother, Byron was forced to tell his mother that Danielle is a client and that he has been serving as an escort.

Jane was stunned speechless by the news, and the fabled Mrs. Mangel portrait, which Helen Daniels created in 1987, promptly dropped to the ground.

As long-time viewers will remember, Mrs. Mangel resided on Ramsay Street from 1986 to 1988, at the height of Neighbours’ popularity.

The character, who was Jane’s grandmother, was well-known for her meddling tendencies, her frequent disagreements with Madge Bishop (Anne Charleston), and for having an opinion on just about everything and everyone.

Certainly, she would have had a lot to say about her great-line grandson’s of work.

Channel 5 broadcasts Neighbours weekdays at 1:45 and 6 o’clock.
