After the demise of Neighbours, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are apparently ready to reprise their roles — and fans are overjoyed.
The show’s cancellation was announced in March, after nearly 40 years on the air, leaving devoted fans distraught as they prepare to say goodbye to a show they’ve loved for decades.
However, there is some good news in the form of reports that Kylie and Jason may reprise their roles as beloved characters Charlene and Scott Robinson, which they first performed in the 1980s when they were in the early stages of their careers.
‘OMG OMG OMG,’ one fan said in response to the news that the stars would be returning.
‘If Kylie and Jason return to Neighbours, I will cry tears of joy,’ someone person remarked, sharing a gif of Kylie’s character Charlene on her wedding day.
‘OMG OMG OMG I’M NOT OKAY!!!’ cried one admirer, while another called the announcement ‘great news.’
‘I’m so eager for this!!!!’ remarked another. While another Twitter user stated that they haven’t seen Neighbours in “years,” they “totally loved” it when they were younger.
‘Scott and Charlene were everything,’ says the narrator. If Kylie and Jason return, this would be amazing,’ they added.

According to reports, the on-screen pair will portray a “fairytale conclusion” after filming in a Melbourne suburb.
The former co-stars will appear in the show’s final episode, which will air on Monday, August 1, according to the Australian newspaper Herald Sun.
