Home and Away’s Sophie Dillman reveals the surprising reason why she’s ‘petrified’ to attend the Logies

Sophie Dillman of Home and Away has said that she is ‘terrified’ of being starstruck at the Logies next week.

Along with co-star Ada Nicodemou, she is nominated for a Silver Logie in the category of Most Popular Actress.

Sophie, 29, acknowledged to The Sunday Telegraph last week, ‘I am frightened.’

‘And I’m not very good at keeping a game face,’ she continued,’so you’ll see me star-struck and unable to talk in complete phrases.’

Sophie described being nominated as an honour after having played Ziggy Astoni in Summer Bay since June 2017.

Sophie described the other women nominated in the category as “some of the biggest names in Australian television.”

‘I never imagined I’d be able to meet these people, never alone have my name listed among them, so the nomination is actually the big deal,’ she said.

Sophie is up against Deborah Mailman and comic Kitty Flanagain in the Total Control category, and comedian Kitty Flanagain in the Fisk category.

‘They are such role models and inspirations for me that it’s like meeting your heroes when you’re a small kid,’ Sophie added.

The Logies is building up to be one of the year’s most important events.

For the first time in seven years, Rogue Traders will take the stage. Calum Scott, a British singer, will also perform.

Lachie Gill, the winner of The Voice Australia, will perform his first single Wasted Time to kick off the day’s entertainment.

Gaudion, a Queensland musician, and Sofia Isella, an alt-pop vocalist, are among the other performers.

The Logies will take place at The Star Gold Coast Entertainment Resort’s Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

On Sunday, June 19, Channel 9 will broadcast the TV WEEK Logie Awards.
