Say goodbye until 2021 to Summer Bay.
It’s the season to be jolly and for a few weeks to be without one of our Australian soaps-not the perfect Christmas present for Home and Away fans, of course.
As it does every year, as we head through the holiday season, the beachside soap will take an extended break from the Channel 5 schedule and this final episode will air earlier than we expected this year.
On Friday 20 November, the last 2019 Home and Away episode will air and while we have not been told when it will come back, with Channel 5 promising to reveal details as soon as possible, the next trip to Summer Bay is supposed to be earlier in the first couple of weeks of January.
Fans were expecting this, as it happens every year, but the soap has now fallen behind on Australian broadcasts, like its neighbour, ahem, Neighbours.
All eyes are now on Channel 5, which will have a void with Home and Away going off the air in their schedule to fill up for a while. Can any of the vacant rooms be used once again to meet up with neighbours from Australia? To be sure, we hope so, and it seems like an ideal time to do it.
Home and Away are both going to take a vacation in Australia, but we don’t yet know what day the show is going to take its holiday off there. When the lockdown hit, like any other soap, it was also forced to take a production break earlier in the year. Fortunately, they were able to get back to shooting a few weeks later and it has run uninterrupted ever.
