After five years of marriage, Sarah Roberts and James Stewart, the pair from Home and Away, got divorced.
Roberts confirmed the news in an interview with Stellar magazine on Sunday, April 21, as reported by the Daily Mail. She clarified that the couple had lately become estranged.
She told the publication, “I just want to say that I am divorced.”
It’s acceptable when people grow apart from one another. I eventually understood that this specific relationship was not allowing me to grow in the way I wanted to.”
At the same restaurant where they had gone on their first date a year earlier, Stewart proposed to the couple in November 2018, marking their official engagement.
In July of 2019, they were married in a charming ceremony at the castle Luttrellstown, which is situated outside of Dublin.
Following years of rumours that they had split up, the couple’s divorce has now been confirmed. Roberts refuted breakup allegations at the time, but Stewart’s conspicuous absence from the film’s premiere, Wog Boys Forever, sparked speculations.
She said, “You can definitely clear it up… we’re happy,” to Woman’s Day in 2022. “He picked me up from the airport last week, when I landed from Tuscany, with a big bouquet of pink tulips.”
Home and Away star Roberts debuted as Willow Harris in 2017. She left the show in 2021 to focus on “more exciting projects and different characters.”
Stewart is still a cast member of the popular programme as Justin Morgan, who recently experienced heartache due to not being in contact with Leah Patterson after she moved out of Summer Bay to get mental health treatment.
Soon, the actor will be trading in drama for the dance floor as he has committed to compete in the forthcoming Dancing with the Stars Australia season, which will premiere on the Seven Network later this year.
