When she started acting on the ABC kids show Mortified in 2006, she was just a teenager.
Marny Kennedy is now set to make her television debut on the long-running Australian soap opera Home And Away.
On Wednesday, the 27-year-old commented on her future and growing up in a difficult industry, telling The Daily Telegraph that she can’t imagine herself doing anything else.
Anyone in their right mind will probably try anything else, but you can’t do anything else when you love it and it’s such a big part of who you are, she explained.
The blonde beauty said that she couldn’t see herself working a normal eight-hour job and that acting work has been her only experience.
She went on to say that the time spent on set is a reward for all of the hard work that goes into auditions, self-taping, rejection, and all of that.
In the coming months, Marny will guest star on Home and Away as Rachel Young, a character who is thought to be one of the victims of a food van explosion.
According to the blog Back To The Bay, she filmed a scene walking along the beach in January with Ditch Davey’s character, Dr. Christian Green, who was wearing a halo brace.
Rachel arrives in Home and Away in a unique way, Marny told The Daily Telegraph of her character. It’s not your typical Summer Bay entry; it’s more like a crash landing.
From 2006 to 2007, Marny played Taylor Fry, a schoolgirl with a wild imagination, on the TV show Mortified.
In season three of The Saddle Club from 2008 to 2009, she played rich girl Veronica diAngelo.
Marny has landed adult acting roles on Janet King, Wentworth, and Across Two Worlds since the series ended.
