When a Home and Away star leaves the Bay, it’s always a sad occasion. And, despite the fact that we are only halfway through 2022, it appears that fan favourite after fan favourite has left the beloved drama this year.
While some celebrities have formally declared their departures and stopped filming, others have yet to air their farewell sequences.

Lukas Radovich
Lukas said his final goodbyes to his fellow cast and crew in May, after five wonderful years in Summer Bay. Though his final episode on the drama aired on Thursday night, the 27-year-old filmed his final scenes in December.
Ryder, the character he’s played since 2017, left the Bay with his mother Quinn to work as a croupier on a cruise ship.
Lukas thanked his co-stars and fans for their support over the last five years on Instagram, writing: “What an amazing journey. I’ll make it brief because I can’t adequately articulate how the last five years have felt or changed my life.
“I’ll miss the job, but I’ll miss the people much more. A huge thanks to @tony gardiner for empathically leading my final block.
“And thanks to the SHOW’S FANS for making the event truly unforgettable… Until the next time, I’ll see you on the other side? “
Harley Bonner
Harley Bonner, the son of Neighbours actress Carla Bonner, declared his departure from Home and Away on January 11th, albeit his final episodes didn’t run until June.
“Thank you for everything, and I wish you all the best. I’m overjoyed. It’s a good life. Continue to share kindness, “He announced his leaving on Instagram.
Given that more seemed to be in store for Harley’s character Logan, who only joined the show in August of 2021, his departure from the soap in early January came as a shock.
Logan had recently established a relationship with Emily Weir’s character Mackenzie Booth.
Logan was written out of the script on June 6, when he found the truth about Mackenzie’s debt problems, only days before he was wrongfully charged with reckless driving.
The individual took the unexpected decision to return to his former life and depart Summer Bay.
Courtney Miller
Courtney, who had been playing Bella Nixon, a teen on the show since November 2018, also left in 2022, with her farewell scenes appearing in early June.
After being offered a position in New York, her character Bella, a photography fanatic, said her goodbyes to Summer Bay.
Courtney announced her departure on Instagram with a series of throwback photos from her time on the show, as well as some heartfelt thoughts about her experience.
“To the happiest time of my life. Thank you so much, @homeandaway. Bella, always and forever. But most importantly… to the friends and family I’ve created. @lucyaddario @sophbabs @louise.bowes @brodietmacpherson and Julie deserve special mention “she scribbled
Sam Frost
Sam Frost’s departure from Home and Away this year was maybe one of the most startling and heartbreaking. After five years as Jasmine Delaney, the former Bachelorette announced her departure in February to focus on her mental health.
“To take care of my mental health, I left my dream job on Home and Away. I needed to take a breather, return home, and spend time with my family “Sam revealed her reason for leaving the show in February, after months of speculation.
“Most importantly, I must prioritise my health and well-being. I now spend my days with the people I care about, doing the things I’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t due to my work schedule. I spent 4.5 years as a distant friend, a distant girlfriend, and a sister who was unable to be present at major life events. I’m making up for lost time right now.”
After receiving anger for stating she would not be getting vaccinated against COVID, Sam left Home and Away.
After Channel Seven declared that all employees will be required to be completely vaccinated, Sam announced that she would be having the injection, but not until February.
However, she abruptly left the show after only a few weeks.
Rob Kipa-Williams
This year has also seen Rob Kipa-Williams leave Home and Away, with his final scenes as Ari Parata airing in March.
Rob said his goodbyes to the programme and his beloved character on Instagram after the episode aired, as well as sharing his aspirations for the future of Home and Away.
“Thank you to the fans,” he wrote in the caption, “for all the love and unbelievable numbers of messages and support.”
“Thank you to everyone who makes the wheels turn, including the cast, crew, camera, directors, production, writing, makeup, art department, and everyone else in between.”
Rob released a video montage of himself and his co-stars walking around the set for the final time a day before his final scene aired.
“A final trip down memory lane…” Tomorrow is going to smack you in the face. “Which set did I fail to pass through?”
After his character Ari made his first appearance in the 2019 season finale, Rob’s departure marked the end of just over two years on the programme.
