Jessica Tovey, an Australian actress, appears to be on the verge of welcoming her first child!

On Wednesday, the former Home and Away actress, who played fan favourite Belle Taylor from 2006 to 2009, announced her pregnancy by posting a photo of her growing baby bulge on Instagram.

She captioned one Instagram Story post, “What has two thumbs and just finished a 2 12 hour social psychology exam – this bisch,” before adding, “And all while a tiny human kicked me in the vag – so pretty thrilled with that.”

Jess has been dating her boyfriend Damien Strouthos since 2017, and he was spotted in the backdrop of her baby pregnancy photo with the emoji “No 1 dad.”

The brunette beauty is recognised for high-profile performances on Paper Giants, Underbelly: The Golden Mile, Wonderland, and Bad Mothers, in addition to her spell on Home and Away.

In an interview with Nine Honey in 2019, Jess said that being a mother on Bad Mothers taught her how big of a duty it is to raise a child.

“For me, the most interesting aspect of parenthood is how it alters the centre of your universe. Which, as someone who hasn’t yet become a mother, I haven’t yet experienced,” she joked to the tabloid “I’m still the epicentre of my universe.”

Meanwhile, Jess left Home and Away fans heartbroken when she died of cancer during her time in Summer Bay, with her character Belle dying in the arms of Aden Jefferies (Todd Lasance).

Later, the actress admitted to The Morning Show that she was frightened about being killed off, therefore ending her prospects of returning to the show.

She told broadcasters Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies in 2017 that she informed the producer, “I’m starting to feel a little nervous.”

“‘We can fix it,’ he added. We’ll be able to get you back. We’ll figure it out.’ People have died and returned in the programme before.”
