Because the Australian film and television business is so small, it’s not uncommon for celebrities from all walks of life to brush elbows on a regular basis.

However, during the 2022 TV WEEK Logie Awards on Sunday night, an extraordinary relationship between two unlikely talents was discovered.

Abbie Chatfield, a reality personality, and Emily Weir, a star of Home and Away, have been friends for nearly a decade!

Abbie uploaded a snapshot of herself and Emily on Instagram from inside the Gold Coast awards night, along with a little backstory about their unexpected connection.

“Eight years ago, they were bartending together, and now they’re running into each other during the Logies break. Who are we, exactly?” The photo was captioned by Abbie.

Emily and Abbie wore lovely gowns in the photo, with the Home and Away star wearing a bright yellow gown and the reality TV regular wearing a sleek silver number.

Emily and her fellow Summer Bay performers took home the Silver Logie for Best Drama Program at Thursday night’s awards ceremony.

Meanwhile, Abbie made her Logies debut alongside Mel B, Chrissie Swan, and Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes, who are all new Masked Singer co-panelists.

Mel and Abbie posed on the red carpet together, displaying their glitzy personalities.

Abbie’s dress train was dramatically thrown up by the former Spice Girls singer, and fans were giddy with anticipation for the sweet moment.

Later that night, Abbie documented the Logies afterparty on Instagram, where she celebrated her 27th birthday in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Despite her loss of voice, the radio personality took to the dancing after a little sleep and a cup of tea, flaunting her third dress of the night, a blue combination with flared slacks and a collared shirt.
