Ziggy asks Mackenzie to check in on Dean after telling him she has moved on from Tane. Mackenzie discovers Dean about to drink the pain away and intervenes. When Dean learns Mac knew about Ziggy and Tane and made him believe he had a chance, he is furious. Dean acknowledges her apologies while putting on a brave face.
Later, Dean and Ziggy cross paths. Ziggy is having a difficult time, but Tane is there to support her. Ziggy concludes that she is fortunate to have him in her life. Dean advises Mac to be more proactive after learning Ari and Mia are having dinner. Mackenzie is persuaded that Dean is right – she’s tired of being second best to Mia.
Meanwhile, Tori and Christian’s engagement party is all but full, with the exception of the happy couple. Justin is concerned and calls Christian, who informs him that Tori is having a nervous breakdown. Christian uses his enchantment to persuade Tori to attend the party. The couple arrives with a shocked expression on their faces. Tori places Justin in his spot by stating that she believed he was ill. Tori softens when Justin apologises and thanks him for throwing her a party.
Justin gives a brief speech and then performs a song to welcome Christian into the family. Tori is moved, and Leah is enamoured with her handsome boyfriend. Christian gives a toast in response to Justin’s speech, thanking Tori for saying yes. Lewis stands there watching as Christian takes a drink of champagne to begin the toast. Christian is in the middle of a slow dance with Tori when he is called into work later.
Lewis, on the other hand, is content to simply be with Jasmine and attends the engagement party with her. Later, Lewis receives a call from the hospital informing him that he has been offered the NUM role. Jasmine takes off her wedding ring, considers her bare hand, and then replaces it, as she isn’t quite ready.
Christian arrives at work that night and determines that surgery is needed to save a patient. Lewis is adamant about not allowing Christian to work because he admits he drank at the party.
