In Neighbours, David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) might be ready to experience a horrific ending courtesy to evil Emma McIver (Jessica Clarke).
As a result of the tragic events at River Bend, in which David failed to attempt to save the life of Gareth Bateman (Jack Pearson) after knowing that the man had viciously attacked his husband Aaron Brennan, the character is currently in prison while awaiting sentencing for medical manslaughter (Matt Wilson).
While out on bond, unforeseen circumstances resulted in the police seizing premature custody of David because they thought he was trying to leave the country. Dan, a fellow prisoner who is working for Emma to exact revenge on Gareth’s killer, has now set his sights on him.
Emma had earlier instructed Freya Wozniak (Phoebe Roberts) to use her nursing abilities to care for her hurt colleagues, suggesting that doing so would protect a vulnerable David. Freya was unable to assist owing to her own punishment for Gareth’s destiny, so Emma made sure David received a thrashing.
Local constable Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) visited David in an effort to assist him and advised him that if he agreed to wear a wire, he may aid in the capture of the dishonest guard who has been helping Emma and Dan. This would imply that David might get the chance to get out of jail.
However, everything changed when Dan imprisoned David as he awaited Emma’s instructions. On Ramsay Street, Emma held Freya, Kiri Durant (Gemma Bird Mattheson), and Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Chimes) at gunpoint and threatened to have David killed unless Freya saved a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emma called Dan, who instructed David to convince Freya and Nicolette that the man, Austin, needed surgery at the hospital.
Is David’s fate determined now that his neighbours tease that Emma would give Dan explicit orders to assassinate the unfortunate man? Will Freya, Nicolette, and Kiri be able to halt Emma in her tracks and will he be able to escape the dangerous situation?
