The final episode of Neighbours is quickly approaching, and a sneak peek of Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue reprising their roles as Charlene and Scott has already been released.
Now, Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne, the actors who played Karl and Susan Kennedy, made an appearance on Lorraine to further tease the series finale. Jackie Woodburne discussed what it was like to narrate the final scene.
I can’t even begin to describe how emotional it was, Jackie said to guest host Carol Vorderman. “The difficulty for all of us on that last episode was that the scene is a very happy, joyful scene, but we were all feeling so emotional, edging ever so close to tears the entire time.
It was extremely difficult for us as actors to keep our own sadness and emotional context out of the scene. I was overjoyed to have the chance to narrate that final scene.
The two also discussed how the soap has changed their lives and the upcoming UK tour that the cast will be taking part in, which was exclusively revealed by Digital Spy last month.
Jackie continued, “We’re both so thrilled and looking forward to getting this opportunity. “It’s referred to as the ‘Farewell Tour,’ but we prefer to call it the ‘Thank You Tour. It’s an opportunity to honour the programme, honour the audience, and truly go out on top.
Alan continued, “It’s going to be extraordinary; they’ve been selling out, and there are more shows going on sale.
