In the closing months of Neighbours, a new family will move into Ramsay Street, as well as a mystery tragedy.
Executive producer Jason Herbison hinted what viewers can anticipate from the legendary Australian soap before the last episodes air in the UK in a recent interview with Inside Soap, and it sounds like there will be plenty of drama to look forward to.
“What I can say is that the next few months will include a little bit of everything that we’ve come to love about Neighbours,” he stated.
“There’s high drama, unexpected visits, an untimely tragedy, a plethora of romantic entanglements, and plenty of Neighbours fun. There is also a great sense of regeneration because a new family is moving into the street.”
The identity of the new family hasn’t been revealed, although it’s possible that it won’t be wholly new characters.
Some fans have speculated that the Rodwells will become more prominent in the coming months. Sadie (Emerald Chan) was recently involved in a significant storyline in which Zara Selwyn was accused of setting a series of fires, and her father Andrew (Lloyd Will) has appeared on the show on occasion as the local police sergeant and Levi Canning’s boss.
Wendy (Candice Leask), Sadie’s mother, has also made a few appearances.
Of course, it’s possible that the family will consist of folks we’ve never encountered before.
Number 26 on Ramsay Street appears to be the most likely candidate for becoming vacant.
Sheila Canning (Colette Mann) left the show earlier this year, while Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan) and Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson) are both slated to leave in the near future. That leaves Levi alone in the house.
Similarly, Herbison gave no details regarding the approaching “untimely disaster” or who will be affected the most.
