Could this mean the end of Mackenzie and Levi’s romance on Home and Away in Australia next week, as the locals of Summer Bay reject them?
The first kiss between Mackenzie (Emily Weir) and Levi (Tristan Gorey) occurred in January. By then, Mackenzie was a patient at Northern Districts Hospital, where she had undergone a procedure performed by cardiothoracic surgeon Levi in response to her spontaneous carotid artery dissection (SCAD).
After convincing an anxious Mackenzie to go, Levi allayed her fears that she would have another cardiac crisis if she left the hospital, and the two went to Xander’s (Luke Van Os) fundraiser together.
Soon after their return to Northern Districts, Mackenzie kissed Levi in return, and Levi gave a quick backhand, obviously uncomfortable about something.
The two quickly rekindled their kiss, but it took Levi some time to confess what was hurting him: he was a contented husband, and his wife Imogen (Georgia Blizzard) was waiting for him at their city residence.
It didn’t take long for Mackenzie and Levi to get serious about one another, despite some early reservations. Levi would frequently go to the bay to check on his patient.
Their secret affair was made public a few weeks ago when Levi’s sister Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) spotted them kissing in public once more, following months of hiding—and not-so-sneaking, since they were almost discovered kissing in public by Alf (Ray Meagher).
Levi took no time in returning to the city, where he devastated Imogen by disclosing that not only had he been having an affair, but he was also leaving her. Levi knew that Eden would tell the truth if he didn’t get there first.
From that point on, Mackenzie and Levi have had to deal with Eden and Felicity’s (Jacqui Purvis) loud disapproval of their behavior. In the most recent episode, Felicity greeted Mackenzie and Levi with a mocking slow clap as they entered Salt together.
But a new teaser shows that even more of their old pals are about to kick them out, which makes Levi wonder if their friendship is worth it.
Now that their relationship is essentially well known, the couple enjoys their newfound independence (not that it stopped them before) by having sex on the beach.
But not everyone is aware of Felicity and Eden’s new connection, despite their best efforts to spread the word.
As he heads for a surf, Justin (James Stewart) is astonished to witness the two kissing, which causes awkward waves between him and Mackenzie.
A different teaser for the episodes to run next week, which premiered in Australia on Thursday, features Mackenzie saying to Levi, following their embarrassing encounter with the garage owner, “Well, I guess it’s all out in the open now anyway, right?”
After toweling off, Justin rushes to the Coffee Cart, eager to tell Kirby (Angelina Thompson) and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) what he just saw.
“I think I just witnessed Mackenzie kissing her doctor.”
Naturally, Kirby has already made headlines when she tells an astonished Justin the crucial information: “Yep, Levi.” Levi is wed.
The narration in the promo says, “It began with an affair. They are now avoided by the bay.
After their affair was made public, Levi claims to Mackenzie that he has been the target of “judgemental looks [and] snide comments.”
Kirby learns that Mac is “with a lier and a cheat” from Mali (Kyle Shilling), who was the first to discover the scandal after he saw Levi visiting Mackenzie’s property.
