Ada Nicodemou has explained why she values Channel 7’s annual Telethon appeal so highly.

The 45-year-old Home and Away actress helped raise money for ill and underprivileged children over the weekend by taking part in the WA-based charity event.

Ada, who spoke to Perth Now, recounted the time she required the services and support following the stillbirth of her son Harrison in 2014, eight months into her pregnancy.

The soap star stated during the fundraiser on Saturday night, “I’ve been in those hospital beds and it’s a dreadful thing for any parent to go through.”

We strive to raise money whenever we can because of this, she continued.

Ada continued, “When we need those things, you realise how crucial they are. In WA, there is a really strong sense of community, and everyone is quite enthusiastic about the Telethon.

Harrison’s parents, Ada and Chrys Xipolitas, originally learned they were expecting him in 2014.

In March, the couple revealed the news of their second pregnancy in an interview with New Idea.

However, the couple only later disclosed that Harrison was stillborn on Thursday, August 7, 2014.

Ada had already experienced a miscarriage before conceiving their son Johnas through IVF in 2012.

After a separation the following year and a divorce that was finalised in 2016, Ada and Chrys were married for nine years.

Actress from Home and Away Adam Rigby is a successful businessman.
