This week on Home and Away in Australia, Kirby and Theo succumb to temptation and risk getting caught, while Marilyn piques the attention of Roo’s new student.
This week, Lyrik have more reason to rejoice, and as the festivities devolve into a wild party, bandmates Theo (Matt Evans) and Kirby (Angelina Thomson) continue to wrestle with their feelings for one another.
Kirby, Eden (Stephanie Panozzo), and Remi (Adam Rowlands) have just established permanent residence in Summer Bay by renting the former Braxton residence on Saxon Avenue next to John (Shane Withington).
Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) was overjoyed to have her friends close by, but John wasn’t as delighted. He had to put up with the Paratas’ loudness when they were staying at the house, and now they were moving in right next to him!
The band’s ex-lead singer Bob (Rob Mallett) stole the group’s van when he left his comrades and left town, so the only thing they were missing was a means of transportation. Last week’s attempt to buy a replacement only resulted in Remi and Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) being duped and spending the night in a shed.
The band was forced to cancel their away dates because they were out of money and couldn’t afford to rent a van.
But when Justin (James Stewart) informed Theo and Kirby that he had actually gone ahead and purchased a van for them, he instantly transformed into their hero in shining armour.
Justin’s reason was his idea to place the name of the garage on the van’s decal in a sponsorship arrangement. When Leah (Ada Nicodemou) found out, he had told her he was using the money for promoting his business, but Justin’s justification wasn’t too impressed.
Leah had no trouble deciphering Justin. He was obviously getting too engaged with the band in the hopes that Theo would help him realise his own aspirations.
When Justin acknowledged that she was correct and pointed out that any dreams he may have had were destroyed by spending so long in witness protection, she started to feel some sympathy.
This time, as Justin arrives outside in their new wheels, the band is overjoyed and drags him inside for some celebratory drinks.
The cocktails quickly develop into a party as Tane (Ethan Browne) and Flick come in. Justin is happy to have the chance to jam with the band in the backyard.
Even though Justin isn’t performing on stage, he is still able to experience his dream when Leah joins them, and she is moved to see him having fun.
Sparks between Theo and Kirby are still flying, so there’s more than just music in the air. Remi and Eden made it clear that interband relationships were forbidden after the two were caught kissing, citing what happened with Bob and Kirby.
Despite their agreement to put their emotions aside, Theo and Kirby have found themselves spending more time alone together over the past week.
Theo and Kirby enter during the celebration after giving up their resistance and share a secret kiss, almost getting caught by Eden.
Theo advises going back to his place after realising it’s too unsafe. Leah and Justin, who are in love, have chosen to keep the party going at Salt, so they should have the house to themselves.
Even before they enter Theo’s room, the two are already changing out of their clothes.
Theo and Kirby appear to be a “thing,” but Kirby warns them to keep their relationship a secret since the band must come first.
Theo nods in agreement, but he quickly realises how challenging it will be.
Will the couple be able to conceal their relationship?
In another part of Summer Bay, Roo (Georgie Parker) is delighted to have a new pupil to tutor, but why are they showing such a strong interest in Marilyn (Emily Symons)?
Since she now has more free time, Roo has promoted her private tutoring services. Last week, Ali, a mature student, became her first client.
This week, Heather (Sofia Nolan), who needs assistance with a law school application, is introduced to Roo. Heather also discusses her private life with Roo, telling her that she once had an affair with a married guy that led to a pregnancy.
Heather alleges that the man and his wife sent her away and adopted the child. She has now made it her life’s mission to try and assist moms in finding their lost children.
Roo, who is eager to lend a hand however she can, finds the whole thing to be quite honourable.
But when Heather sees Marilyn at work, she sneakily takes a picture of her. How is Heather faring?
This is the start of a significant narrative for Marilyn that was previously hinted at in a teaser when Marilyn is shown receiving a puzzling envelope. A baby portrait with the words “Guess Who?” inscribed on the back is what she finds inside.
Additionally, in a subsequent commercial, Heather addresses Marilyn directly and inquires about their prior encounters while sporting a knowing expression. Marilyn is uncomfortable as she answers no, but she then appears shocked by the chance encounter and needs to collect herself in the diner storage.
One of the ideas we considered was the likelihood that Marilyn had a kid in secret while she was living and working as an au-pair in the UK in the early 2000s.
