Home and Away Spoilers – Remi to quit Lyrik as Theo steals limelight?

This week on Home and Away in Australia, Remi threatens to leave the band, making Kirby and Theo’s publicity stunt for Lyrik a failure.

Since Bob’s (Rob Mallett) departure, Lyrik have had difficulty promoting themselves.

While they all concur that they are better off without their former lead singer, Kirby, Bob’s ex-girlfriend, does have to admit that he was good at marketing (Angelina Thomson). It’s now up to the remaining band members and new addition Theo (Matt Evans) to land gigs, grow their fan base, and keep the cash coming in.

Kirby noted that a feature in the Coastal News would only be effective “if we want our next gig to be full of pensioners.” Last week, Theo and Kirby decided that their ideas, including calling a local radio station to request that they play their song and getting a gig review in the local paper, weren’t big enough or weren’t going to get them the right type of audience.

It’s nothing compared to the big, attention-grabbing, and frequently contentious ideas Bob used to have.

Then Justin (James Stewart), who had been performing increasingly daring online stunts with Ryder (Lukas Radovich) late last year that culminated in Ryder being buried alive, revealed to Kirby about Theo’s enormous social media following.

Theo is quick to note that he once had a sizable online following, but that he long since deleted his account. Theo’s tens of thousands of followers were back and available for marketing after Kirby pointed out that he could simply reactivate it.

100,000 eardrums are represented by 50,000 subscribers. That’s like getting a stadium on a silver platter!

The couple, whose relationship is now public knowledge, hastily recorded themselves singing their brand-new song, the one that originally prompted them to share a kiss.

Kirby didn’t care that Remi (Adam Rowland) and Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) weren’t present because she needed the video posted online right away and they weren’t picking up their phones.

Theo double- and triple-checked with Kirby to make sure they were acting appropriately because he was worried about alienating the other band members.

“Wait, just to make one final check… Are you certain that Eden and Remi will approve of our uploading this without them in it? He queried. And they won’t object that it appears on my channel rather than the official Lyrik one, right?

Kirby encouraged him to stop second-guessing it and just post the video, telling him that getting them in front of 50,000 people was the best PR they could hope for, and that the band’s social media accounts paled in comparison to Theo’s.

She told him, “Trust me. “Remi and Eden will be thrilled!”

Their strategy was successful. Within a few hours, over 2000 of Theo’s fans had watched and shared his new professional move.

It didn’t take Theo and Kirby long to become the hottest couple on the internet, and attention soon followed.

They soon received a direct message (DM) from Tully Dixon, a music critic for the website Music World, who seemed to be a big deal. Theo, who is familiar with the internet, thought it might be a hoax, but Kirby reassured him that the man’s account was verified – he’s the real deal!

The only issue was that Tully was already nearby and wanted to conduct the interview right away!

This week, the hour passes quickly, and Theo and Kirby scramble to gather the entire band in one spot before the significant critic shows up.

Unfortunately, because of the lack of time, the two are compelled to begin the interview before they can reach Eden and Remi.

They eventually run into their bandmates when Eden and Remi return to the group’s new home on Saxon Avenue, but the interview has already ended by that point. Kirby barely has time to introduce the group to Tully before he quickly leaves.

If Tully publishes the interview in Music World, Kirby and Theo won’t be able to contain their excitement—they’ve given the band the exposure they’ve been hoping for!

It’s safe to say, however, that the band’s guitarist and bassist are not at all pleased about missing out on their biggest interview to date.

Even Eden, who is typically composed, is on the verge of losing her cool as she says angrily to Kirby, “We should have done it together.”

However, Kirby insists that you “don’t stuff ’em around” when a career-advancing journalist squeezes you in at the last minute, implying that they couldn’t have simply declined and rescheduled for another day.

Theo tried to convince Remi that they had tried to delay him, but he was met with silence.

Remi says, “we’ve only known this guy for a couple of weeks, and he’s already gone behind our back with Kirby,” refusing to believe Theo’s story as he and Eden chat later.

It appears Remi has another plan when Eden, who believes Theo when he says he tried to stall the journalist, tells him that they can’t exactly oust their new lead singer right away.

“Perhaps I’m the one who needs to go,”

Are Lyrik about to lose another member after already losing one since arriving in Summer Bay?

The drama doesn’t end there, either…

Given that Remi ended up in the hospital this week after collapsing outside the surf club, it appears that Theo and Kirby talking behind his back are the least of his worries this week.

Though it doesn’t take him long to start entertaining his doctors and bystanders with an acoustic guitar performance, he doesn’t seem overly concerned.

Ever the optimist, he even takes advantage of his hospital visit to make out with his favorite new doctor, Dr. Bree Cameron (Juliet Godwin).

He’s about to be put in his place, though, as the new doctor discloses something she’s kept mostly hidden up until this point: she’s married!
