Ditch Davey is joining the cast of Home and Away, according to an announcement.
Digital Spy can exclusively confirm that Ditch will portray Dr. Green, a figure who will be introduced when a well-known Summer Bay resident has a medical emergency.
“With his level of expertise and arrogance, he puts a few noses out of joint at the hospital,” according to the description of the character, “but that doesn’t mean he lacks a sense of humour… or softer side for those he wants to let in.”
The Australian soap opera star Ditch, who has been in productions including Spartacus and Black Box, thanked everyone on the crew for making him feel at home on set.
“Home and Away has been such an institution to audiences in both Australia and the UK for such a long time and it’s great to be a part of that now, but the people are what it’s all about,” he stated.
“The cast and crew are brilliant and have made me feel at home immediately.”
Producer Lucy Addario has stated that the coronavirus will not be incorporated into any of the shows’ plots.
“We did think about it, but we really know that people love to come to Summer Bay to escape,” she stated to BBC Newsbeat. “By the time the episodes we shoot get shown, if we are doing COVID stories, it’ll be the last thing people want.”
