Characters depart the drama-filled hamlet of Summer Bay in a variety of ways, including car crashes, catastrophic fires, and divorce. But it’s when new inhabitants arrive, bringing new life and plotlines to Home and Away, that the true fun begins.
Rose, The Bay’s newest occupant, is played by Kirsty Marillier, who is best known for her work in Melbourne’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Sydney’s Home, I’m Darling and The Cherry Orchard.
In 2018, the 32-year-old made a brief appearance as Rhea on the Australian soap opera Home and Away.
Rose, played by Kirsty’s cousin Luke Van Os, and fellow newbie Xander, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth’s cousin Luke Van Os, make their Home and Away premiere in a sneak preview for next week’s episodes.
The arrival of the two enigmatic new characters brings with them a surprising revelation for Jasmine (Sam Frost), who is still grieving from the news that her estranged father had a secret past.
Jasmine is having trouble processing the advent of her newfound relatives, Rose and Xander, and dismisses them as con artists.
However, when Cash (Nicholas Cartwright), Jasmine’s boyfriend and local Summer Bay cop, does some research, it appears that the storey is true. Jasmine’s recently departed father left her not only a fortune but also two hidden siblings.
Kirsty shot the blockbuster plot in December 2021, and she released a photo from the Palm Beach set after Channel Seven congratulated her on her casting.
“Summer Bay will welcome a new character named Rose in 2022! Please join us in welcoming Kirsty Mariller to the cast of Home and Away “On the show’s official account, the production team wrote.
Nicholas and Laura Vazquez, the hair and make-up artist for the TV show Home and Away, were among those who congratulated Kirsty on her new job.
Kirsty said she was “ecstatic” to share her newfound position with fans when the news initially broke.
She posted on Instagram at the time, “Can now come clean with this hot piece of news I’ve been harbouring for the previous 2 months.”
“I’m overjoyed to report that I’ve been cast as a series regular on Home and Away.” Woah.
“It’s a little surreal to be a part of this Australian icon-of-a-show.” It’s been a fantastic 6 weeks of shooting as I get to know the bay as Rose, the new resident brown girl.”
