Ryan Kwanten from Home & Away and True Blood has been given his first look in the horror film Glorious.

The actor plays a man who finds himself imprisoned in a rest stop bathroom with a mystery figure whispering to him in the newest Shudder film.

As Kwanten’s character is shown being embraced by a woman and waiting outside the rest stop, the initial images tease a very grim-looking trip.

Read the complete synopsis: “Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Kindred) portrays a young man in Glorious who is losing control after a disastrous breakup.

“As JK Simmons (Whiplash, Being the Ricardos), an Oscar winner, speaks to him from a nearby stall, his predicament gets worse as he finds himself trapped inside a rest stop bathroom.

He discovers that he is a willing participant in a situation that is greater and worse than he could have ever imagined as he makes an effort to flee.

The film, which was written by Todd Rigney, Joshua Hull, and David Ian McKendry and directed by Rebekah McKendry, will debut on Shudder on August 18.

Kwanten first gained notoriety on Home & Away as Vinnie Patterson before moving on to portray Jason Stackhouse in True Blood.

He co-starred with Hugo Weaving in the sci-fi thriller Expired earlier this year. A hitman named Jack (Kwanten) is shown in the film as he meets mystery club singer April (Jillian Nguyen) in Hong Kong just before becoming ill.

In addition, he recently appeared in the films 2067 and Kill Chain as well as the TV programmes Them and The Oath.
