The popular reality TV dating show is back, and it means soap opera fans are set to miss out on their Monday fix of Summer Bay.

The 2026 season of Farmer Wants A Wife kicks off tonight, and that means Channel 7 had to bump Home and Away from its usual spot.

The popular soap opera, which has been running since 1988, usually airs on Aussie TV screens at 7pm local time.

But the reality TV dating show is taking precedence for its debut episode.

Home and Away took to social media to explain the situation, and that Channel 7 had scheduled two episodes to air last Thursday so that fans wouldn’t miss anything.

But viewers weren’t happy with the move and felt their show should have retained its usual timeslot.

“There’s no reason Farmer Wants A Wife couldn’t be shown after Home and Away like the rest of the time it’s been on,” one angry fan said.

“Why is Home and Away always affected?” another complained.

“Stuff Farmer Wants A Wife, let it start at 7.30pm after Home and Away,” a third wrote.

“Why does Home & Away always get moved around for other shows that are not as popular?” one demanded to know.

“It should be set at normal showing times and left that way, so annoying when it’s such a popular show.”

Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Channel 7 for further comment.

After Monday’s episode, Farmer Wants a Wife will air at 7:30pm each night, and Home and Away will return to its usual 7pm timeslot.

Who will be on this season of Farmer Wants A Wife?

This year’s Farmer Wants A Wife lineup includes a rodeo cowboy searching for his soulmate, a devoted single dad hoping to find someone to join his family, and a self-confessed hopeless romantic who loves grand gestures.

Dylan, Jason, Jarrad, Alex and Zac are the leading men of the show, with their ages ranging from 24 to 41.

Eight women will compete for each farmer’s heart, with five selected to join them at home on their respective farms.

Long-time Farmer Wants A Wife favourite Natalie Gruzlewski is back as host for the second consecutive year.
