On UK television this week, Home and Away revealed Lewis Hayes’ true villainous nature.

The vengeful nurse has spent the last few weeks accusing surgeon Christian Green of incompetence, but it seems that Dr Green isn’t the one who should worry Summer Bay residents.

Lewis attempted to murder Ari Parata on Channel 5 on Wednesday (April 21), hoping that his death will show Christian is a danger to patients.

For the time being, only viewers will know that Lewis is a very dangerous man. But, for those viewers who really must know when a soap villain will be brought to justice, here’s some Oz-paced insider information about how this storey will conclude.

When will Lewis Hayes be caught out?

The truth about Lewis’s evil vendetta was revealed on Australian screens this week, but since Home and Away episodes in Australia are about a month ahead of those in the UK, Channel 5 audiences will have to wait a little longer.

The main retribution episodes that aired in Australia this week will be shown on UK screens on Tuesday, May 18 and Wednesday, May 19 – so keep screaming at the TV until then.

Where does Lewis and Christian’s feud go from here?

Lewis’ attempt to assassinate Ari is unsuccessful. Ari’s ex-girlfriend Mia enters the emergency room just as the ruthless nurse is about to inject Ari with a life-ending drug.

Christian is later able to awaken Ari from his coma, which astounds Lewis, who had not expected Ari to recover from the recent hit-and-run incident. Ari came dangerously close to losing his life when he wanted to take matters into his own hands, and only Lewis knows about it.

Christian will lose another patient at Northern Districts in the coming weeks on Channel 5. As a result of the fallout, the hospital continues to raise uncomfortable questions, as a trend of deaths seems to be emerging.

Lewis enjoys every moment of Christian’s scrutiny, knowing that it’s only a matter of time before he’s fired.

Christian drowns his sorrows at Salt and punches Lewis in a fit of rage as his career is jeopardised. Lewis retaliates by filing a police complaint and reporting Christian to the hospital.

Christian, however, is given a light sentence for his random act of crime, much to Lewis’ chagrin. In the end, the hospital determines that he has no case to answer for the tragic deaths of recent patients.

How is Lewis caught out? (Huge spoilers ahead)

Lewis takes matters into his own hands when it becomes apparent that Christian will be allowed to continue operating at Northern Districts. He knocks him unconscious and holds him hostage in an abandoned floor of the hospital building.

Lewis ties a defenceless Christian to a hospital bed and demands that he confess on camera that he was responsible for the death of Lewis’s wife Anna, who was pregnant when she died in a car accident a few years earlier.

Lewis switches tactics after Christian refuses to accept blame for Anna’s death, believing that there was nothing he could have done to save her.

“Essentially, Lewis claims that while Christian is a physician, innocent people will die,” Luke Arnold, who plays Lewis, told Australian magazine TV Week recently.

“He knows he has no other option but to take matters into his own hands to do the right thing.”

Lewis attaches a heart monitor to Christian and prepares to inject him with the same drug that nearly killed Ari. Lewis needs to see the exact moment Christian dies by using the heart monitor.

When Lewis administers the injection, Christian’s life hangs in the balance, but Tori and Jasmine rush in at the last second, realising something isn’t right.

Tori is able to save Christian’s life, while Lewis, defeated by his mission’s failure, decides to surrender to the police.

And after that, there are still a lot of unanswered questions for everyone concerned. Is it possible for Christian and Tori to recover from their ordeal? What will Lewis’s retribution be? And how would all of this affect Jasmine, who took a huge risk by allowing Lewis back into her life?
