Coming up on Home and Away, tragedy strikes on the train journey to the music festival, putting the lives of multiple Bay residents at risk. Elsewhere, Eddie pops the question to Jo, while Leah and Abigail’s relationships are in serious peril.

1. Jo reaches out to Tane

Lacey tells David that she has reservations about Eddie and fears he didn’t fight hard enough to be with Jo after their mother’s death.

David realises he’s been putting too much pressure on trying to get Jo back together with Eddie and apologises for his pushiness.

This prompts Jo to sort things out with Tane. She invites him out for a coffee to talk about where they stand. Is there still hope for them?

2. Harper and Tane make a deal

Harper remains clueless about Tane and Archie’s whereabouts and Kerrie can’t resist dripping poison in her ear over his behaviour.

The situation continues to escalate until Cash intervenes and persuades Harper and Tane to meet and talk things through.

Amazingly, the exes are able to reach a truce. Tane promises not to interfere anymore and in return Harper agrees to supervise all contact between Archie and Kerrie.

3. Justin lies to Leah

There’s cause for celebration at Back on Track Records when Sonny announces that he’s secured Eddie a set on the main stage of the Off the Rails festival.

With just hours to go before everyone needs to board the train, Justin tells Leah that he’s going to the city for work.

But his lie comes back to bite when Leah sees a flyer for the festival and realises Justin deliberately deceived her.

4. Eddie plans a proposal

Jo finds herself drawn back towards Eddie as she accepts his invitation to Off the Rails and the pair share a kiss.

She later pays Tane a visit and firmly places him back in the friend zone.

Eddie is confident that his future lies with Jo and asks David for his permission to marry her. David isn’t clear in his response, just telling Eddie all that matters is what his daughter wants.

5. Mac, Abigail and Lacey join the party

Mackenzie decides to take Remi up on his invite to join the festival party, thinking it will be a good distraction from her IVF journey.

Elsewhere, Abigail makes plans to head to Off the Rails, unaware that Mali is planning a romantic getaway for their one-year anniversary.

Jo also manages to persuade Lacey to tag along, insisting that Theo would want her to go and have a good time.

6. Leah makes a heartbreaking confession

Leah announces she’s also going to Off the Rails, but Justin snaps back that she’s not invited.

Hurt by her husband’s rejection, Leah turns to Sonny, who feels Leah has a right to come and support Justin. But following a chat with Lacey, Leah decides to give it a miss.

Afterwards, Alf finds Leah on the beach in tears as she admits she’s still not dealing with her grief over Theo.

7. It’s all aboard for Off the Rails

Excitement is in the air as the partygoers arrive on the platform, ready to board the train to the festival.

Abigail is busy knocking back drinks, while Mac turns down the advances of an admirer called Isaac.

Meanwhile, Eddie can’t contain his delight as he tells Lacey he’s planning on proposing to Jo this weekend.

8. Leah fears her marriage is finished

Eden has FOMO over not going to Off the Rails, but Cash helps boost her spirits, which brings the couple closer than ever.

Leah is consoled by Alf as she reveals her regrets over accusing Justin of never caring about Theo.

Encouraged by Marilyn, Leah picks up the phone and calls Justin to say sorry. But he’s too busy on the train to answer, leaving Leah to fear she has destroyed their marriage.

9. Abigail discovers the truth

A hungover Abigail is in trouble with Mali, who’s gutted that she could have forgotten their anniversary.

Mali packs a bag and tells Levi he’s not sure when he’ll return to the Bay.

Back on the train, Abigail is heartbroken when Mac reveals the surprise Mali had been planning for her.

10. Tragedy strikes on the train

It’s the moment Eddie has been waiting for as he gets down on one knee and asks Jo to marry him.

Jo is completely taken by surprise and tells Eddie she needs some more time, which he’s willing to give her.

Moments later, the train driver suddenly slams on the brakes to avoid trespassers on the track. There’s a huge crash, and viewers see Abigail, Dana, Remi and Mac lying unconscious in the wreckage.

11. The crash victims fight for survival

There’s an eerie silence followed by screams from the victims of the accident. Remi and Dana wake up and start to move through the smoky carriage in search of survivors.

Down the other end, Eddie is frantically calling for Jo. Lacey cries out that Jo is alive, but has been crushed by the collapsed roof.

Sonny is also in a bad way, wedged between seats with a weak pulse.

12. The rescue effort begins

Word of the train crash soon reaches the Bay, as David gathers a rescue team to head to the site. Levi arrives at the scene to witness Cash trying to send a frantic Tane away.

Dana and Abigail are the first passengers to be freed from the train, followed by Lacey, but Mac’s admirer Isaac is pronounced dead.

Levi and Tane enter the wreckage and are able to locate Jo, who’s drifting in and out of consciousness.

13. Tane races to save Jo

The rescue team lift Sonny out of the wreckage. He’s awake, but tells Remi he can’t feel anything in his legs.

Levi receives a deadly warning from the rescue leader and gets on a megaphone, ordering Tane to get Jo out of the wreckage.

As Eddie flees, Tane is left on his own, with just minutes to rescue Jo before the carriage roof caves in. Will they live to tell the tale?
