When he asks Craig to come over to the Bistro and give some advice on stepping up his defence, Ray’s setback comes.

As Craig waits in his office for Ray (Mark Frost), he spots the plans for the street redevelopment.

Ray knows instantly that he has screwed up, so he offers a free meal at the Bistro to Craig and Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) in the hopes of securing his silence.

Craig remains unsettled and calls Gary Windass (Mikey North) at the furniture store to inquire about the new building project.

Gary tells Ray that Craig might be a concern, so Ray switches strategy by promising to put in a good word with the chief inspector of the police for him if he stays quiet about what he saw.

As he quizzes Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) on whether there are any redevelopment projects planned for the area, Craig still does not seem to give up so easily.

Sally is not certain, but she promises to contact the planning committee to find out.

Ray later offers Faye the position of trainee manager for his entire hotel and restaurant chain, continuing his sly behaviour.

Faye is happy with the unlikely chance, but Craig recognizes that Ray can not be trusted and feels insecure.

With Craig, Ray soon becomes nastier, threatening that if he reveals the truth about the construction project, he will make sure Craig loses his position in the police force.
