Tuesday’s Home and Away (episode 8821) saw Eden begin a risky new treatment while her husband Cash shut himself away from the world.

Eden starts treatment

At the hospital, Eden was ready to begin chelation therapy. Her doctor explained that if the IV treatment works, she may be able to switch to taking it by mouth, dissolved in juice. Eden joked that it had to be better than being hooked up to tubes.

But Eden’s mind was on Cash. When she asked where he was, she was told he was at home resting. Away from her room, the worry grew. Eden’s condition was stable, but one of her loved ones lost patience, angry that Cash was missing when it mattered most. Another urged them to be kinder, reminding everyone that Cash had barely left Eden’s side since her diagnosis.

Cash chases a miracle

Cash, meanwhile, was holed up at home. Still reeling from the news about Melanie, he was scrolling through the online forum, desperate to find another survivor who might hold the key to saving Eden.

A friend who came to check on him told him the posts went back years and he wouldn’t find what he was looking for. He urged Cash to go to the hospital. Cash refused and snapped at him to get out.

Mac asks about Eden

Elsewhere in the Bay, Mackenzie asked after Eden and learned how serious things have become. The treatments meant to help Eden are creating more problems, and if she doesn’t improve or a donor isn’t found, it could be the end of the road. Cash had walked out after a clash with a specialist, so she asked someone to look in on him.

Gary and Tane arrive

That check-in brought Tane to Cash’s door, and soon Gary turned up as well. Cash admitted he should have told Gary about Eden earlier, but said he didn’t need a hard time about it. Gary replied that he wasn’t mad. He was simply there for him.

Richie’s surf club push

At the Surf Life Saving Club, Richie was keen to move ahead quickly. He asked how long it would take to become a rescue boat driver, and John reminded him not to get ahead of himself. Richie also revealed he had finished all the online modules overnight because he was too worried about Abby and her family to sleep. Abby had told him there was no point coming to the hospital, but he hoped to see her that night.

What’s next for Home and Away?

Next week brings a big change. According to spoilers, Tane is set to leave Summer Bay after more than 7 years. In a promo, Alf asks him, “You’re leaving the bay?” and Tane answers, “Maybe it’s time.” His exit is expected around Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th October, although it’s not meant to be forever.

Meanwhile, Cash says all that matters is being there for his wife. A promo also hints at a new worry, with someone fearing a loved one has gone missing, saying she should have been home two days ago and it isn’t like her to disappear.

Will Cash finally face Eden’s illness? Stay tuned for more Home and Away updates.
